What a day to start a blog. I knew as all of us should that today is a day that must be kept in our collective thoughts but didn't connect what I was doing with the importance of this day. While watching the news and the carefully crafted segments of remembrance I continued setting up this account. It wasn't until I was done that it really hit me "Hey you are starting a blog on 9/11 what do you have to say that is so important." Well that thought was like hitting a brick wall.
What an important day. A day that we should never forget and always remember we are only a moment away from the dangers presented by extreme ideology. We must also remember that we, The United States of America, are the ones that stand between that danger, stopping it from spilling out over the world. We must never forget and never let the world forget.
I am sure that I will be one of thousands if not millions of people talking about this on their blogs, with friends and family or in quite reflection, but it is important that we do these things. We have been wounded by an act so vile that it my never truly heal. But that should stand as a reminder that we can not allow this to happen again. We can and must protect ourselves and those we call friends from this level of hatred. We must stand together to see that our children may one day live in a world that is safer and full of wonder.
